Things to know before calling our bail bonds office

Posted on March 17, 2020 at 6:43 AM
Things you should know before contacting our office to speak with our family bail agents.
There is certain information that a bail bond company will need in order to assist, but not all is required:
  • Which city or county jail is the person in? (Make sure that you ask the person that is calling you from jail where they are at or being taken including the city).
  • What is the full name, date of birth and other names used? We will need this information in order to contact the jail the are at in order to verify bail amount and charges. It is not necessary to have a booking number because when we contact the jail we will get that.
  • Do you know how much is the bail and or what they got arrested for? As a licensed bail agent will get this information when we contact the jail if you do not have it handy at the time. After finding out from the jail what the bail and charges are, we will be able to explain your options to post bail now or wait til first appearance in court if needed.
  • How long does the process take for release? After we find out about bail amount, the jail can average anywhere from 2 to 8 hours to go through booking, than another 2 to 8 hours for release.  This depends on which facility they are being held.  If in a local police department, like Oxnard Police, they normally book within 2 hours and release in about 1 hour.  So they would take about 3 hours total for booking and release.
Any other bail questions can be addressed by contacting our office 24/7.
