Common bail bond questions

Posted on September 24, 2015 at 2:47 AM
I receive calls daily and in doing so I have listed the top 3 common questions asked.

1. I have a family or friend arrested, but I do not know what is going on or how much his bail is. Can you help me find out?

When a family or friend has been arrested, they are usually taken to the local police station or county jail for booking.  This process can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, and during this time we will not be able to obtain bail information until booking has been complete.  Because of this timely process, we will monitor his booking process and after they are booked, we will contact the customer with the charges, first court date and bail information if they wish to bail out the detainee.

2. I have not heard from my family or friend after they were taken by the police.  What can I do, or what is going on?

As mentioned earlier, the booking process takes a while and the detainee will not be able to use the phone for several hours.  You will have to be patient, but as part of our service, we will monitor the booking process and let you know what your options are in contacting your family or friend.

3. What does it cost to post bail?  After verifying the bail amount, the bond company has a regulated fee that has to be charged, and that is 10% of the bail amount set.  This for example would be if someone has a $10,000 bail set, then the legal fee that will be charged is $1000, which is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the case.
